Archive for February, 2013

Volunteers are seldom paid. Not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless and any person who volunteers to help a child is a hero.

February 2, 2013 was a day to remember for Janyaa, an organization with a vision to change the lives of the underprivileged children in rural India. Graced by the honorable Consulate General Of India, Mr. Parthasarathy , along with his wife, Mrs. Githa Parthasarathy, and giving them company, Mrs. Anu Natarajan, Vice Mayor of the City of Fremont, Janyaa hosted its first ever Volunteer Appreciation Event. It was a colorful event to appreciate and thank the countless volunteers, sponsors and event partners for their contribution in making the vision of Janyaa a reality.

In an ongoing effort to make dreams come true for the rural children, Mr. Parthasarathy commended Janyaa on its hard work and focus, with its unquenchable thirst to continue in its never ending goal of helping a child.  As he congratulated and handed out certificates of appreciation to all, Mr. Parathasarathy encouraged everyone to become a part of Janyaa and volunteer a small part of their lives to help another child get an opportunity to learn something new.

Mrs. Githa Parthasarathy and Mrs. Anu Natarajan showered words of accolades for Janyaa’s continuous efforts and encouraged the organization, to forge ahead and make a difference in the life of an underprivileged child.

The event was a great success and a proud moment for all. Spearheaded by its founder, Venupriya Nadella, a passionate and selfless soul, Janyaa grew by leaps and bounds in the past three years. In the year 2011, it targeted 210 schools and 21,000 students in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Janyaa has a magnanimous goal of targeting 50,000 students this year. Here’s wishing Janyaa and its heroes, the very best of luck in their future endeavors.
